CourierPost takes home award

Crisplant congratulates CourierPost on receiving the supreme award for Supply Chain Innovation in New Zealand.

The award, presented by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, recognises notable innovation in systems and technology in the New Zealand Supply Chain sector during the period 1st July 2009 to 30th June 2010 with CourierPost topping the field as a result of the creation and implementation of the Auckland Operations Centre (AOC).

The judging panel assessed an array of entries and selected CourierPost as according to their criteria that CourierPost “demonstrated a substantial level of innovation and change that has enhanced significantly the operations and success of their organization’s involvement in the sector”.

In a move to replace manual handling and boost throughput, improve operating efficiencies and strengthen health and safety standards, BCS Conveyor Solutions and Crisplant (then FKI Logistex) worked in partnership to supply CourierPost's Auckland operation with an advanced sortation system. The system, which was handed over in April 2009, processes out- and inbound satchels and small parcels, prior to distribution using Express Couriers’ extensive road and air network across New Zealand.

The extensive installation includes a Crisplant Cross Belt Sorter, incorporating carton and satchel inductions and flash bag re-induction/manual encode inductions.
